HLTV.org: NiKo joins G2

G2 and FaZe are close to the successful completion of negotiations on the transfer of Nikola "NiKo" Kovac, reports HLTV.org. The 23-year-old Bosnian is expected to move to G2 before the start of BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020, where the team will play from 2 to 4 November.

FaZe has already started looking for a replacement for their captain. The European line-up will also participate in BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020, but will start playing earlier than G2 from 29th to 31st October.

According to 1pv.fr portal, the buyout amount for NiKo, which will replace Francois "AmaNEk" Delaunay in G2, will be about $1 million. Thus, the transfer may become the largest in the history of professional CS:GO. The previous record also belongs to Kovac - according to Dot Esports FaZe in 2017 paid $500,000 for his buyout from mousesports.

NiKo is considered one of the strongest shooters in the world and for four consecutive years is among the top twenty players according to HLTV.org. As part of FaZe, he won nine Tier 1 tournaments, where he received six MVP awards.
